Huawei’s recently-announced new flagship devices, the P20 and P20 Pro, may not be hitting the headlines like their direct competitors from Samsung and Apple, but there’s a few reasons why these devices are making a lot of people, including us, very excited.
Aside from their beautiful design, gorgeous hi-res display (5.8in on the P20, and 6.1in on the Pro), and hugely impressive battery life, there’s one other aspect that’s really grabbed the attention of folks in the know. The camera.
A new renaissance in photography
Get ready for a camera experience like nothing before.
There’s been a lot of developments in camera tech in a pretty short period of time, but with the P20 and P20 Pro, Huawei have gone in a different direction. Instead of just making the same megapixel improvements year-on-year (although they have still done that – more later), they’ve focused on bringing the experience of high-end photography into the hands of anyone with a smartphone. And to do it, they’ve developed some seriously high-end tech.
AI-powered super snaps
The Huawei P20 and P20 Pro both come with a special little friend built in – Artificial Intelligence that, coupled with Leica tech, manages to understand the subject of your photo, in real time. That means it can literally adjust the settings while you’re pointing the camera, and automatically make sure you take the perfect photo, every time.
Not sure about the settings it chooses? All you have to do is change them to your suiting, and the AI will learn and remember for next time, delivering perfect snaps that can truly only come from you.
The tech
Getting down into it, both the Huawei P20 and P20 Pro come with some serious high-level tech built in, not just supporting their innovative AI, but working with it to deliver stunning photography at the tap of your finger.
Both the P20 and P20 Pro boast a not-at-all shabby 24MB front camera, for those extra-special selfies. But it’s the rear cameras that really deserve the attention. At any other time, the P20’s 20MP and 12MP Leica Dual camera would be impressive in its own right, especially since it comes with 2x Hybrid Zoom to deliver fantastic photo quality right down to the tiniest degree.
But this is no ordinary launch, and it’s the P20 Pro that steals the show here, with the world’s first 40MP Leica Triple camera. That’s right – in addition to a 20MP 8MP cameras, the P20 Pro also comes with a 40MP camera, featuring an unbelievable 5x Hybrid Zoom.
With either one of these cameras, even the most novice of phone users can’t help but snap beautiful shots that anyone could be proud of. But that’s not the only reason to be excited by these phones…
Free Bose headphones for new and existing pre-order customers
