Take a look at the new additions to the Samsung Z Series range – the Fold4 and Flip4

It’s time… they’re finally here.

Samsung has released the latest devices in their formidable range of foldable phones, and you can now pre-order the new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 and Flip4  on Three.

Wait… what are foldable phones? And why should you get one?

In a nutshell, foldable phones give the clever people designing these bad boys twice the space to work with. As a result, that means you can then enjoy a device with a bigger screen, larger battery, a faster processor and a more powerful camera.

Perfect for multitaskers, foldable phones are a bit like having 2 monitors – imagine sitting on the train and being able to binge watch a Netflix show whilst writing an email.

You could say that foldable phones are the perfect combination of smartphone and tablet. A durable hybrid that slides into your pocket easily.

Oh, and they look pretty cool, too.

Samsung’s foldable phones

These types of devices have come on leaps and bounds in recent years and Samsung’s foldable phones are arguably leading the way.

Millions have now been sold, as they become more common around the world.

When it comes to the foldable phones on the market, both the Fold4 and Flip4 are stylish and innovative game-changers.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4

The most obvious difference between the Fold4 and the Flip4 is that the Fold4 bends like a book, while the Flip4 folds vertically.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 has a triple-lens camera and large 7.6-inch internal display, plus a case for the S Pen it supports. It’s waterproof and has a stronger frame than the Fold 3.

What we love about the Fold4

The Galaxy Fold3 was a huge success and the Fold4 has kept everything we loved about the previous model and improved it. The Fold4 is thinner and lighter than its predecessor, but it’s just as strong.

The Samsung Galaxy Flip4

The screen size will be the same as the Galaxy Flip3 (at 6.7 inches), so although there hasn’t been a radical design change to the Flip3, significant upgrades have been made.

The Flip4 is slightly thicker and feels more durable, whilst the crease down the middle of the phone has been reduced, making for a more seamless look and feel.

What we love about the Flip4

The hinge design has been vastly improved and you also get loads of colour combinations to choose, from, so you can really get the look you want.

Why get the Fold4 and Flip4 on Three?

You can pre-order the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 or Galaxy Z Flip4 today, on a Pay Monthly contract, or on Pay As You Go. You’ll also get access to our 5G network and, according to Ookla, that’s the fastest 5G network around.

Plus, you know that you’ll be on the Best Network for Data.

Where to get your hands on the new Samsung Fold4 and Flip4?

Now that the Fold4 and Flip4 have launched on Three, you can pre-order either device online or in your nearest store.

How to get WiFi in your Motorhome or Caravan

Pack up the caravan or motorhome for summer holidays to discover the UK in a new and exciting way. Between 2020 and 2021 a total of 16,608 motorhomes/ caravans were registered with the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA)*. This is the highest number of sales in recent years, and it was all due to travel lovers seeking new ways to travel without leaving the country due to the pandemic. Whether you’re planning a weekend trip up the Jurassic Coast or driving the kids to the grandparents in Cumbria motorhomes/caravans are the perfect way to mix work and play this Summer.

Carvaning’ is all fun and games until it’s 9pm and it’s time to stream Love Island or you missed an important work meeting because of connectivity issues. Fight back against connection issues with potential solutions like hot spotting, public WiFi, or mobile broadband devices.

Below we have listed the ways you can get WiFi in your morothome/caravan:
Using your phone or tablet hotspot as WiFi
Using Public WiFi
Use a MiFi device

Using your phone or tablet hotspot as WiFi

Enjoy Netflix shows and update Facebook with epic roadside photos from your caravan with a reliable mobile WiFi connection. This can be done by creating a hotspot with your mobile or tablet to use your WiFi just like you’re at home. Hotspotting is simple and convenient. To hotspot you can use your mobile or tablet to create a WiFi signal with a mobile signal that will then allow internet access.

The techy explanation is that you’re leveraging your phone’s reception to the nearest tower and turning it into a mini router. This creates the ability for other devices to connect to your phone. The benefits of this type of connection are that you’re giving your caravan WiFi access making it easy for you and the family to stay connected on the go. And you will be able to enjoy apps and devices that require WiFi which is one of the many reasons we recommend sleeping at caravan storage camps where they most likely have a WiFi hotspot.

Hotspotting comes with a lot of positives, but it also has its negatives. The performance level won’t be the same as a Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) because those hubs use antennas to access more power. Also, only a limited number of devices will be able to connect.

When it comes to hotspotting the more data you have the better which is why we’ve made it easy for you to upgrade to a contract that gives you more or tap into data add-ons on the go.

Using public WiFi

Free public WiFi is extremely common, and you can literally get it anywhere you are. Malls, café’s, airports or in the case of caravanning holiday parks. Free WiFi is affordable and allows you to save money on data charges while do more internet related activities on the go. It also aids productivity by allowing you to choose your office and work from anywhere.

The downsides of public WiFi are its reliability, security, and low speeds. Public connections go down a lot because they can’t support heavy user loads, which makes them unreliable. They’re also more susceptible to attacks because of how many people are using the network in one area. If your device doesn’t have a strong firewall at the time of access, then you’re putting yourself at risk especially if you’re sending out confidential information. Public WiFi is notorious for operating at slower speeds. Too many users on the network results in a loss of bandwidth which leads to a slow network speed.

Use a MiFi device

MiFi is a term used to describe a wireless router that acts as a mobile WiFi hotspot. This is the perfect solution for your motorhome/ caravan. You can use MiFi or MiFi dongles anywhere you can connect to WiFi, creating a localised, portable signal. MiFi also allows you to connect multiple devices. MiFi taps in 4G and 5G mobile phone networks and this connection can be shared between laptops, tablets, smartphones, and some gaming consoles. So, you and the family can take your streaming and downloading habits on the road without a hitch!

For more storage, wireless dongles and mobile broadband dongles are compatible with SD cards. Another big advantage of MiFi is it requires very little setup so you can get online in a matter of seconds. Expect high speeds, the ability to connect multiple devices, and no need for software download during set up.

Which solution works best for you?

Mobile broadband , MiFi devices or dongles are all necessary WiFi options for travelling around the UK this Summer in a motorhome/ caravan. It’s really up to you to choose which options works best for your requirements. If you’re travelling with family, then choose one of our mobile broadband< options that allows you to add on data when you need it. Take advantage of our4G Plus MiFi, currently at 6 months half price on 12 and 24 month contracts with unlimited data, perfect for the upcoming holidays. Or upgrade your existing plan to one of our options that will give you enough data to stream shows and connect multiple devices.

Support Samaritans by signing up to this year’s Samarathon

At Three we’re lacing up our trainers and getting ready to clock up the miles, in support of Samaritans’ Samarathon. Fancy joining us?

We’re excited to be the official sponsor of this huge fundraiser again this year, which encourages everyone to run, jog, or walk the equivalent of a marathon throughout July. Fitting it in around your everyday life. The month-long event will help save lives – raising money so that Samaritans’ awesome volunteers can continue providing vital emotional support.

Why you should join us

Fresh air and exercise are known to help boost physical and mental wellbeing. So, while you’re raising money for an incredible cause, you’ll also be looking after your own health. All you need to do is choose how, when, and where you complete your 26.2 miles. You’ve got the whole of July to get the miles in. And friends and family can sign up too – cheering each other on in-person or remotely.

Right now, more people are finding it hard to cope. Rising costs mean that people are finding it harder to make ends meet. Samaritans know that financial insecurity is a risk factor for suicide. Every mile you do this July will help make sure everyone has somewhere to turn, no matter what they’re going through.

“On the two occasions when I reached out to Samaritans, I was in a pretty desperate place. The ability to get those feelings out – the feelings of lack of self-worth, hopelessness, whatever you want to call it – empowered me to then go to the people around me.” Ian, Samaritans caller.

How to sign up

To join forces with Three and support this year’s Samarathon, all you need to do is follow the simple steps on the Samarathon website.

You’ll be taken to a fundraising platform from Enthuse, where you can register for the event and set up your page. Sign up with friends, family, or work mates – or go it alone if you prefer. You can easily link your page with Strava to track your miles automatically. Then share your fundraising page far and wide to help raise money for Samaritans.

Raising £50 could enable Samaritans to answer 10 potentially lifesaving calls for help.

Our partnership with Samaritans

At Three, we’re all about connecting people. Our partnership with Samaritans is the perfect opportunity to inspire customers to really listen to their friends and family. To be a Better Phone Friend whenever they can. During our 3-year partnership, we’re working together to expand Samaritans’ services and help more people access emotional support, 24/7, 365 days a year.

More about Samaritans

Anyone can contact Samaritans for free, at any time from any phone on 116 123. Even a mobile phone without credit can make this call. And the number won’t show up on your phone bill.

Or you can email [email protected]. Or go to www.samaritans.org for more email options, face-to-face calls, online chat, and postal details.

Samaritans respond to a call for help every 10 seconds. Samaritans is a charity and it’s the public’s kind donations and more than 22,000 volunteers that mean they’re always there for anyone struggling to cope.

Find out how you can support Samaritans or  volunteer with them. Whatever you’re going through, Samaritans will face it with you.

Pixel 6 vs Pixel 6 Pro – What’s the differences and which is right for you?

The new Google Pixel 6 Pro has finally landed at Three and it doesn’t disappoint. Google is giving you a completely redesigned phone with something you’ve always dreamt of…all-day battery. That’s right all-day battery is a big ask but they’ve delivered so you can respond to work emails, respond to you ‘Summer vibes’ group chat, edit photos and stream your favourite shows without missing a beat. The Google Pixel 6 was designed for daily life and its Google Tensor processor makes it the smartest and fastest Pixel phone to date.

It’s up to 80% faster than the Pixel 5, but how does it compare to its predecessor the Pixel 6?

Pixel 6 vs Pixel 6 Pro – The Camera

The Pixel 6 features a 50MP main camera and a 12MP ultrawide camera. The only difference on the Pixel 6 Pro is that Google has added a third camera – a 48MP Telephoto with 4x optical zoom and 20x digital zoom. The Pixel 6 has up to 7x digital zoom making it the lesser of the two when it comes to zoom strengths.

The Pixel 6 Pro gains a point over the Pixel 6 as it pertains to sharp shooting and vivid videos especially in low light. Its powerful camera system and pro-like lenses are a photographers dream with a main sensor that captures 150% more light than any other Pixel ever. With the Pixel 6 Pro, you’ll find new features like Magic Eraser, which helps you remove unwanted parts of photos, and Face Unblur, which adds definition to faces that the camera didn’t quite capture.

Both phone cameras capture vibrant and detailed photos, but the Pixel 6 Pro is definitively a photo lovers dream and takes this round.

Pixel 6 vs Pixel 6 Pro – Battery Life

The Google Pixel 6 has a 4,614 mAh battery while the Pixel 6 Pro has a larger 5,003 mAh battery. Both phones boast 24-hour battery life and can last up to 48 hours when Extreme Battery Saver mode turned on.

What does this mean for your daily life? Simply put, it means more screen time, more streaming your latest Netflix obsession, or more time to capture and edit videos on the go if vlogging is your thing.

The Pixel 6 Pro’s adaptive battery is everything a battery should be. It learns your favourite apps, so it doesn’t waste power on the ones you never us.  By turning on Extreme Battery Saver, it keeps your essential apps running and turns off other apps to save on power. The battery lasts up to 48 hours with Extreme Battery Saver, so there’s always power when you need it. And with the compatible 30W charger, the Pixel 6 models both charge up to 50% charge in 30 minutes.

Battery wise it’s a draw, both phones have fast charging and long lasting batteries.

Pixel 6 vs Pixel 6 Pro – The Display

The Pixel 6 models both have Gorilla Glass Victus on the front and back, as well as a camera bar on the back.

The models differ in a few areas, the most obvious being their size. The Pixel 6 boasts a 6.4-inch OLED display while the Pro has an impressive 6.7-inch. Another feature that is different between the two are their cameras. The Pixel 6 has two rear cameras while the Pro sports three.

The Pixel 6 has a 90Hz refresh rate which guarantees more responsive gaming and scrolling. And high brightness mode lets you watch and play in bright sunlight. The Pro on the other hand has a 120Hz refresh rate for smoother, more responsive performance.  Its display automatically adjusts to whatever you’re doing, which makes it battery efficient. And with high brightness mode, you can watch and play in bright sunlight.

The clear winner is the Pixel 6 Pro.

Pixel 6 Pro – Colours

There are a range of different colour options for both phones. The Pixel 6 comes in Stormy Black, Sorta Seafoam and Kinda Coral, while the Pro comes in Stormy Black, Cloudy White and Sorta Sunny.

Which one is right for you?

Both the Pixel 6 and Pro are great phones for social media lovers, photographers, business owner and vloggers alike. Google made good on their promise of the Pixel 6 models being designed for everyday life with essential features like 24-hour adaptive battery, super-fast charging, and impressive cameras. So, which do you choose when the phones seem to be equally good?

If you’re looking for a phone that is fast, small, secure and adapts to you then the Pixel 6 is for you. Google’s custom-built chip helps to keep your phone fast, your games rich, and your personal information safe.

The Pixel 6 Pro is simply the Pixel 6 reimagined for individuals with fast and busy lives that require a device that will not only keep up but will simplify their days. Use Call Screen to avoid unwanted calls. Talk to Google to get things done fast, send texts and emails, add lists, and easily control your apps. If your alarm goes off when your hands are full, just say: “Stop.”

The possibilities are endless with the Pixel 6 and Pro, it’s up to you to choose the one that will make daily life a little more hassle free.

How to get your hands on the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro?

When it comes to high performance the Pixel 6 Pro and Pixel 6 do not disappoint. The Pixel models are for serious screen lovers, photographers and those who lead busy lives.

You can buy the Pixel 6 Pro and Pixel 6 from Three online or instore on a pay monthly phone contract or on pay as you go. Find your nearest Three store

The Oppo Find X3 Pro or the X2: Which one’s for you?

Like Billie Eilish, Avengers: Endgame, and the meme where Leonardo DiCaprio excitedly points at the TV, Oppo made a splash in the UK in 2019. Since then, its phones have been steadily causing a stir, and no wonder. The Find X2 and X3 series are comfortably sitting in the ‘big leagues’ of the smartphone world. And the X2 Pro and X3 Pro have been Oppo’s premium, flagship devices for 2020 and 2021 respectively.

But what’s the difference between them? Which one will best suit you? Are a billion colours enough? Let’s find out.

Let’s start with the displays

Yes, you heard – a billion colours. Oppo phones have a reputation for beautiful screens that cater to all users, from gamers, to streamers, to scrollers. The Find X2 Pro has a 6.78-inch screen that boasts a hefty 3186×1440 UltraHD resolution and 120Hz max refresh rate. So, whatever you’re using it for, it looks beautifully vibrant and smooth, and it reacts to touch quickly and accurately.

The Find X3 Pro goes even further, but is very slightly smaller at 6.7 inches. Its 1 Billion+ Colour Display means you can create colour-rich photo and videos, and watch movies with incredible colour accuracy and vibrancy. But it’s not just a beautiful phone for displaying your pics; the O-Sync Display Hyper Response Engine means it’s perfect for interruption-free gaming.

Onto the cameras

Both of these phones have incredible cameras, but with some distinct differences.

The X2 Pro’s periscope telephoto lens is its stand-out feature. Its (frankly, astonishing) zoom almost does away with the grainy, zoomed-in-from-a-long-distance photos we’ve all taken at one time or another. Plus, its Ultra Steady Video, and Live HDR Video settings help you to create a cinematic experience with your phone.

Users of the X3 Pro have 4 different camera options, with its wide and ultra-wide-angle lenses designed especially for Oppo by Sony. The ground-breaker here is the X3 Pro’s microlens. It’s designed for super close-up photos and can detect details that the naked eye couldn’t capture. For those with a curiosity for the micro; this camera is the one for you. For big Instagrammers, the X3 also offers cool custom filters, which you can create from your own photos using its AI palettes.

How about the designs?

Both of these are good-looking, beautifully crafted phones but with completely different styles, so it’s really down to your preference. The good news for us all is that they’re both protected by IP68 dust and water resistance.

The Find X2 Pro offers more choice than the X3 when it comes to its design. It’s available in ceramic black, or green or orange vegan leather. It’s a unique design, which really makes it stand out from all other premium smartphones.

The Find X3 Pro is – as Oppo say – “inspired by spacecraft”, and it shows. It’s pretty slim compared to other premium smartphones (8.26mm) and its curved, glass back wouldn’t look out of place at NASA.

The practical stuff

Both the X2 and X3 benefit from high-speed charging. The X2 Pro fully charges from 0-100% in just 38 minutes. The X3 Pro does it in 35 (and can charge to 40% in 10 minutes if you’re in a rush.) The X3 Pro has a strong battery life for such an ultra-smart phone. It lasts longer than the X2 Pro, but both have the super-fast charging option, which means you can top-up. If wireless charging is an absolute must for you, then you’ll need the X3 Pro, which also offers reverse wireless charging.

It’s decision time.

Which one is the one for you? Well, to sum up, the Find X3 Pro’s display sets an incredibly high bar. It’s pretty hard to beat 1.07 billion colours. Plus, with innovative camera options and loads of cool extras, it’s a truly ultra-premium smartphone. The X2 Pro has a unique design and is better suited to fans of long-distance photography. If you like an unusual phone design, crystal clear displays, and up to 60x digital zoom, then the Oppo X2 is the one for you. If you need detailed close-ups, the highest-quality display around, and wireless charging, then the Oppo X3 Pro is your perfect match.
