And don’t forget, you can tune into Three Live right here, from 7am tomorrow morning (13 September) to join our video chat about all things iPhone 2018. You’ll get all the news, on the hour, every hour.

Introducing iPhone Xs Max, iPhone Xs and iPhone Xr.

Size matters. When it comes to phone screens anyway and the iPhone Xs Max doesn’t disappoint. With its beautiful 6.5-inch, Super Retina, OLED display, it’s the biggest iPhone ever.

Both the iPhone Xs Max and the iPhone Xs boast a resolution of 2,688 x 1,242 – the highest ever quality display on an iPhone.

Not only are the screens even better, but the new A12 Bionic processor is pretty awesome too. Tim Cook even went as far as to describe the iPhone Xs Max as “the most advanced iPhone we have ever created.”

Apple have also unveiled the new iPhone Xr. With it’s 6.1-inch Liquid Retina display, it’s got the most advanced LCD display of any smartphone. It includes the same A12 Bionic Processor as the iPhone Xs Max and iPhone Xs giving it an iPhone X experience on an LCD display.

Gold is back!

Yep, the iPhone Xs and Xs Max will both come in gold and they look beautiful! The familiar silver and space grey options will be available too. But, that’s not all. The iPhone Xr comes in a range of colours: black, white, coral, red, blue and yellow and has a sleek aluminium and glass design.

The lowdown on the camera.

iPhone Xs Max and iPhone Xs both have a Dual-lens 12MP camera with wide and telephoto lenses. And if that wasn’t enough, the front-facing camera on each is 7MP, which will bring depth to portrait mode photos. You can even adjust the depth after the photo is taken to give you a professional Bokeh effect that blurs the background and brings clarity and vibrance to whatever you have in the foreground.

Because of the power of the A12 Bionic chip inside the devices Apple have promised you’ll get even more from the camera than you can the iPhone X. Impressive algorithms detect faces and bodies and give you automatic and instant red-eye reduction. And the Smart HDR feature can identify highlights and find shadow detail in your pics.

The iPhone Xr has a single-lens 12MP camera with a wide-angle  lens and also had Face ID and the True-Depth camera system that you get with the Xs. All new iPhone cameras also have an improved ‘True Tone’ flash which measures the light temperature and uses just the right colour to get the correct colour balance and make the intensity just right. David Bailey eat your heart out!

Dual-SIM is here.

Yep, that’s right – Dual-SIM has arrived. Both iPhone Xs and the XS Max are Dual-SIM compatible, which means you can use two different SIMs with your iPhone. You’ll be able to receive calls and texts from both lines – so you could have one for work and one for play! And you’ll be able to toggle between the two SIMs with a quick push of a button. Genius!

Longer, more powerful battery.

The bigger, better screens and the faster processors of iPhone Xs and Xs Max mean that battery life has had a boost too. iPhone Xs has 10% more battery life than last year’s iPhone X and iPhone Xs Max has a huge 25% more battery life compared to iPhone X

Introducing Apple Watch Series 4.

Series 4 (S4) of the Apple Watch has literally just been unveiled and it’s available to buy Sept 17th. To start with, it looks stunning with curved edges to match the shape of the watch and an over 30% larger screen. All this with minimal changes to the actual case size – so Series 4 is thinner than Series 3. It also has a 64-bit dual core processor, so it’s up to 2x faster.

Amazing UI.

Every part of the UI has been redesigned. With more in maps, photo, calendar, etc. It shows you more information and detail with up to 8 watch face complications that bring all your apps to life. You can customise your Apple Watch with all the things you care about: add loved ones to your watch face and tap to connect; or create the ultimate health and fitness watch.

Greater sound.

S4 is 50% louder for calls and Siri requests. And the microphone has been moved to the opposite side to reduce echo, so calls are clearer. The back of the Apple Watch is made entirely of black ceramic and sapphire crystal and radio waves pass through the front and back for increased cellular reception. So it’s even better for staying connected.

A focus on health.

A raise of wrist watch face will guide you through a deep breath so you can focus on mindfulness. The accelerometer and gyroscope track all-day activity and the Apple Watch can now detect falls. It delivers an alert and will automatically call emergency services if you’re immobile for a certain length of time. There are also 3 amazing new features thanks to a new electrical heart sensor:

1. It notifies you if your is heart rate is too low
2. It measures heart rhythm by screening it in the background and sends a notification if it detects Atrial Fibrillation. Potentially helping people who didn’t even know they had a heart issue!
3. It can actually take an electrocardiogram that you can send to your GP!

Added security.

On top of all this, it’s good to know that your data is always protected – so you decide who should see it. All health and fitness data is encrypted on the device and in the cloud.

iOS 12: What you need to know.

So, iOS 12 will officially come to iPhones and iPads later in the year, but you can download the public beta now. iOS 12 brings you stronger performance updates, including a 50% faster keyboard display and twice as fast app launching.

iOS 12 also boasts 4 new Animojis that you can now add straight on your pictures, along with new stickers, filters and text effects – no editing required!

ARKit 2 means AR objects can be sent through messages and mail, and Measure, a new app for AR in iOS 12, will also be released, giving functionality to measure real-world objects just by pointing your camera at them.

As well as all of this, iOS 12 has a new notification feature, which means you can stack your notifications and adjust their alert volume. And last, but by no means least, the new photo organisation means you can search your pictures in smarter ways, using locations, events and people to search.
