New Preview DELTA System Update – 1/26/18

Starting today at 2.00pm PST, Delta Insiders will begin to receive a new system update (1802.180121-1921).  This update includes a  variety of cool new features they can interact with and provide feedback on.  Read on to learn more.

New Features:

 Next Achievements

  • With this update, you’ll be able to use the “Next Achievements” feature in the Guide, which enables you to view and sort a cross-games list of upcoming Achievements. Easily see which Achievements you are closest to, and quickly launch the game to obtain them. Sort filters allow you to prioritize next Achievements by closest, most common, rarest, most common rare, and highest Gamerscore.  You can also hide/unhide a specific achievement or entire game from the Next Achievements section!

Mini Game Hubs

  • Mini Game Hubs are available in the Guide. With this feature, you’ll be able to access great content for the games you’ve played recently from a Game Hub without ever having to leave the action. Mini Game Hubs provide an easy way to see friends who are currently playing, upcoming Achievements, Looking for Group posts, and more.  To find the Mini Game Hub, launch the Guide and look for a new icon to the right of all Game tiles in the Home section.

Do Not Disturb

  • Sometimes all you want to do is avoid all distractions and focus entirely on your game. This build has the new feature of “Do not disturb” online status, which will suppress notifications and let your friends know that you’re not available for another game or activity right now.
  1. Open the Guide and select your profile icon to the far left.
  2. Select My profile.
  3. From the Appear online dropdown to the right, select Do not disturb.

Community Feed

  • We’re tweaking the community feed to make it easier to view comments. You’ll soon be able to see a peek of the most recent comment on community posts while viewing the activity in full screen. Comments are also being rearranged to place those that are most recent at the top. You’ll also be able to see who has liked your comments.

Power Settings

  • To address user feedback, we have added additional inactivity shutdown options to the Power mode & startup menu. In addition to shutting down the console after one or six hours of inactivity, you will be able to select options for two, three, four and five hours.
  1. Navigate to Settings > Power & startup > Power mode & startup.
  2. Under Options, select the “Turn off after” dropdown menu.

Dynamic Themes

  • Put your themes on a schedule! You can now switch between light and dark themes based on time of day.

Known Issues:

Profile

  • Some users are seeing a new issue that can cause the incorrect Profile color to display after powering on the console.

Pseudo-Localization

  • You may notice strange characters which replace normal translated text on the dashboard, Guide, and other areas. Please use Report a problem when you encounter these issues.

Games Installation

  • Games that are installed fail to launch. Workaround: If the games are installed to an external drive please copy the game to the internal drive or attempt to delete the title and redownload to fix the launch error.

Display

  • We are investigating the inaccurate RGB colors that have been reported when displaying in 4K HDR mode when playing a UHD disc.

Tournaments

  • The left and right navigation for selecting date and time during Tournament creation is currently reversed when the console language is set to Arabic or Hebrew.
  • Left and right navigation in Tournament twists is reversed when the console language is set to Arabic or Hebrew.
  • Left and right navigation in the bracket view of Tournaments is reversed when the console language is set to Arabic or Hebrew.

Monster Hunter: World Arrives on Xbox One

Monster Hunter: World Arrives on Xbox One

Welcome to the New World, hunters! It’s been a very exciting ride since we announced Monster Hunter: World at E3 2017, and we’re stoked to finally bring the one-of-a-kind thrill of hunting savage monsters to the Xbox One.

In Monster Hunter: World, you’ll take the role of a hunter venturing into a new, uncharted land as part of the Research Commission, who have set out to investigate a strange phenomenon of cataclysmic proportions. But your journey will not be without its challenges; the New World is filled with formidable foes.

The Monsters

Each creature moves and behaves like a real living being and have their own unique habits, personalities, and place in the food chain. As you explore the New World, you’ll come face to face with a variety of monsters. Some may be docile herbivores while others can be large, fire-breathing flying wyverns ready to roast their prey. Along with the Rathalos here, large monsters are the stars of the show, and will be the main challenges you’ll face throughout the game.

But each victory is handsomely rewarded! Upon taking down a monster, you can harvest its remains for rare materials. Then, take those goodies to your local blacksmith for weapon and armor upgrades, which visually and functionally take after your slain foes.

The Hunters

As a hunter, your job is simple: help the Research Commission in their investigations of the New World. This includes using your expert battle techniques to protect their headquarters, venturing into new locales and hunting down any monster that poses a threat to your mission. Each hunter can wield one of 14 different weapon types, a number of support tools, and a fully customizable set of armor. Your choices in weapons, tools, and armor will greatly impact the way you hunt; you can even change your equipment during quests at your base camp, offering endless possible strategies for your hunt.

And if a monster proves to be too troublesome, just shoot an SOS flare up in the sky, inviting your friends or other hunters to lend a helping hand.

The World

With the technology and processing power of the Xbox One, our development team has been able to bring a fully fleshed out ecosystem to life with Monster Hunter: World. From dense forests to expansive deserts and wastelands, the environments really come to life with the amount of detail and attention dedicated to each aspect: herbivores will roam in packs and congregate near water, small vulturous birds will seek out carcasses to feed on, and small carnivores will attack larger monsters when they are knocked down, just to list a few.

In addition to all the natural phenomena you’ll see unfold before your eyes, in Monster Hunter: World you’ll be able to directly interact with the environment and change the course of your quest. You can trap monsters using natural formations of vines scattered across certain maps or even lure your target to the lair of its natural predator to gain the upper hand.

Whether you’re a new hunter or a returning veteran, we’re excited to welcome you to Monster Hunter: World and can’t wait to see what you’ll discover! Happy hunting!
