SWIM – Smart Water Management project, funded by Business Finland, focused on developing digitalization capabilities to achieve more efficient and sustainable water resource management. Both water utilities and water-intensive industries need new solutions to ensure environmentally safe and resource efficient processes.
VTT was coordinating the project and University of Savonia with Kuopio Water Cluster offered an environment for product development and testing, including the wireless solutions with NB-IoT (narrowband Internet of Things) and 5G technologies, and the Nokia IMPACT IoT platform.
