One way in which #COVID-19 has impacted the #business world is by underlining the importance of accelerating #digital transformation.
Business leaders accept they need to be flexible and to adapt to change – and they need to use multiple innovative #technologies to deliver successful outcomes.
What does this mean for the future of wireless LAN solutions in 2022? OMDIA has identified six trends to watch for this year:
i) Expect the momentum to continue in the private #4G/LTE and #5G networks market, especially in new territories.
ii) #Enterprises, notably #mining, #ports and #manufacturing, will continue to deploy larger and more complex private wireless network solutions.
iii) Private #wireless #networks will leverage developments in #edge computing and #cloud. It is reported that 50 percent of enterprises will need #cloudcomputing and storage as part of any private wireless network deal. OT #applications will need a combination of edge and cloud.
iv) There will be challenges to growth. One is the difficulty of integrating private 4G/LTE and 5G networks with existing IT #systems, while providers have been hit by chip shortages because of geo-political issues, the pandemic and businesses double-purchasing.
v) The pace of 5G adoption will continue steadily. The lack of a wide system of 5G #devices, especially in the industrial environment, is a key consideration. This is unlikely to change until #chipset vendors fully commit roadmaps and resources to accelerate the ecosystem.
vi) Expertise in deploying private 4G/LTE and 5G networks is now widely available. The potential market is also expanding as more countries unlock #spectrum. #MulteFire is still pushing to include #unlicensedspectrum to support private network expansion.
