Hey everyone, today we are celebrating the launch of Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart on PC.
Back in 2002, Insomniac Games released the first Ratchet & Clank game on PlayStation. It’s been two decades since the series first evolved into an iconic franchise on PlayStation consoles, and now for the very first time, Ratchet and his friends and foes are making the jump to a new platform.
On behalf of everyone at Nixxes Software, we can’t wait to hear about your experiences with Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart on PC and look forward to seeing your Photo Mode results. You can help us find your posts by using the hashtag #RatchetPC when sharing your experiences and creations on social media.
Excellent starting point for newcomers
In this dimension-hopping action-adventure platform game, you take on the role of Ratchet and his robot friend Clank as they fight an evil emperor from another reality. Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is the latest game in a long-running franchise, but it is also an excellent starting point for newcomers, thanks to a standalone storyline and the introduction of the new characters Rivet & Kit.
Wild arsenal of weapons
Ratchet & Clank games are known for their wild arsenal of weapons, and Rift Apart is no exception. Throughout this multi-dimensional adventure, you can unlock twenty weapons, including the explosive Shatterbomb, the energy beam-firing Negatron Collider, and the Ricochet, which lets you bounce projectiles onto enemies to blast them into oblivion.
Using weapons in combat levels them up, increasing their damage and unlocking more upgrading options at weapon vendors. Leveled up to their maximum, weapons change form and become even more powerful. On PC, you can handle this explosive arsenal of weapons with mouse and keyboard controls, or with a controller. Whichever you choose, you can fully customize the controls to your liking. And when using a PlayStation DualSense controller on a wired connection, you’ll experience immersive haptic feedback and dynamic trigger effects.
PC features
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart on PC is packed with the latest technologies, including DirectStorage 1.2 with GPU decompression and the latest performance-enhancing upscaling technologies. Features such as ultra-wide monitor support, ray-traced shadows, and ray-traced ambient occlusion allow PC enthusiasts with high-end systems to take full advantage of the latest hardware. A wide range of graphics, presets, and settings ensure the game can be played on lower-end systems and portable gaming devices.
