In rural Germany, internet connectivity is often still limited and relies on outdated legacy infrastructure in urgent need of an upgrade. Recognizing this as a growing hindrance to Germany’s position as Europe’s economic powerhouse, the German Federal Government set a target for all households to have speeds of at least 50 megabits per second by the end of 2018. For the infrastructure, utility company Innogy selected a partnership between Nokia and Axians. Nokia would provide the technology, and Axians would roll it out. Here’s the story of our successful partnership.
