In this video, we demonstrate optical protection survivability mechanisms in a lab exercise using the Nokia Engineering and Planning Tool (EPT). We learn how to improve optical service resilience to failures using several different mechanisms. Some of these mechanisms are based on traffic protection, while others are based on traffic restoration. In this video, we’ll focus on traffic protection, where dedicated additional resources are assigned to protect the customer’s service.
