How to festival-proof your Xperia smartphone

Whether it’s the precipitous drop from hand to floor as you dance along to your favourite artists, or the ever-present mud threatening to get your phone dirty, festivals offer a world full of danger for the humble smartphone – and that’s aside from worrying about saving your battery!

To put your mind at ease this upcoming festival season, we’ve created this handy guide to make the experience a happy one for you and your Xperia handset, whether you’re grooving to Ariana Grande at Coachella or The Cure and The Killers at Glastonbury.

Find My Device

Before you go to the festival, go into settings and tap ‘Lock screen & security’. Make sure ‘Find My Device’ is on.

If you lose your phone, use a friend’s smartphone and your Google ID to sign in to myxperia.sonymobile.com and access the central interface**.

1 – Locate your device on a map
2 – Sound an alert to get someone’s attention, even if the device is in silent mode
