For those of you who want to see the devices in action, we filmed a hands-on video with Chris Barraclough, editor-in-chief of Recombu.
The tech expert takes a look at Sony’s new Xperia smartphones, from the “exceptional” Xperia 1 to the “mid-range marvels” – the Xperia 10 and 10 Plus.
Of the Xperia 1, he says: “The OLED panel produces punchy colours and hyper-realistic contrasts, helped along massively by the grunt work from Sony’s brilliant BRAVIA® engine.
“You can expect movies to look exactly how the director intended thanks to the fantastic Creator mode powered by CineAlta.
“The Xperia 1 comes with full support for cinematic Dolby Atmos® as well for a multi-dimensional sound experience,” summarising by saying the Xperia 1 provides “an immersive entertainment experience right there in the palm of your hand”.
But Chris isn’t just impressed by the Xperia 1’s display, adding that the Xperia 10 and 10 Plus also provide a brilliant 21:9 experience.
“With the 21:9 Wide Full HD+ display of the Xperia 10 and the Xperia 10 Plus,” he says, “you’ll enjoy movies in their true aspect ratio.”
