It’s been a bit of a rough deal in the UK these past few weeks. We’ve had the Beast from the East covering us in unexpected snow and, more recently, torrents of rain that mean everyone is being forced to dust off their umbrellas and wellies. Great fun if you like splashing in puddles; otherwise, not so much!

So instead of watching the rain hit the window like a lonely singleton in a ‘90s romantic comedy, we thought we’d compile some of our favourite artists that are looking likely to make summer playlists everywhere sparkle. And, if you’re treating yourself to the Huawei P20 or P20 Pro on pre-order, you can even snag yourself a pair of Bose® QC® 35 Wireless Headphones II absolutely free, meaning you can shut out the showers and welcome in the sunshine even more effectively. With noise-cancelling technology, these are some of the best headphones on the market for stopping the thunder ruining your own private beach party.

Without further ado, come on a musical adventure with us and check out our top five summer artists.

5. Portugal. The Man

You might know these guys from their catchy tune Feel It Still, also featuring on a TV ad at the moment. Their upbeat melodies and indie-rock vibes make for a perfect Sunday afternoon chill out session.

4. Camila Cabello

Rising to fame as a member of Fifth Harmony, Camila Cabello’s solo career has since reaped her plenty of success. With her first album Camila topping the US Billboard 200, it’s clear it’s not just us who are finding Camila’s sultry Cuban-American lyrics the perfect vehicle to transport us to sunny beaches far away.

3. J-Hus

J-Hus is representing the UK phenomenon of grime music in this list, bringing the genre into the mainstream. For a brilliant dance anthem, why not check out his 2015 hit Lean and Bop; a grittier version of the Cha-Cha Slide, perhaps? If dancing isn’t your thing, check out some of his other brilliant hits to recreate the festival atmosphere in your own backyard.

2. George Ezra

The golden boy George Ezra is back! If you didn’t spend the summer of 2014 loving George Ezra’s best-selling album Wanted on Voyage, maybe now is the time to discover him once more! Back in the charts with his new hit Paradise, George Ezra has a folk-rock voice that both you and your mum will love in equal measure.

1. Will Smith

Perhaps less well-remembered for his brilliant tunes, it wouldn’t be summer without a few of Will Smith’s party tunes. Feeling a little grey? Cheer up your ears with Big Willy Style’s classics, Miami or Gettin’ Jiggy With It, both perfect for pretending you’re on South Beach or cruising the streets of LA.

What are you waiting for? Go Binge on some of these brilliant artists, build out your summer playlist, and remember that Apple Music, Deezer and Soundcloud won’t eat through your data; you can listen all day and night without ever letting that cloud get you down.
