You will have heard all about Sony’s newly announced Xperia 1, Xperia 10 and Xperia 10 Plus and their incredible new features – but there’s even more to explore over at Sony’s booth at MWC.

With a total of eight different zones, it’s a chance for delegates to see Sony’s latest products and the technologies behind them.

The media at MWC have been giving the new devices standout reviews after seeing them on display at the stand, but there’s no need to feel jealous! We’ve got all the information you need right here.

The studio set-up at the Sony booth at MWC

Let’s start with the Cinema Studio zone, where guests can see the flagship Xperia 1 in an authentic studio environment.

With a fully functional professional cinema, filming and photo shoot experience, visitors are transported to a Hollywood movie set with professional actors.

They can witness first-hand how CineAlta and Master monitor technology used by the world’s best filmmakers inspired the Xperia 1’s incredible camera experience.

The Sony cameras used to film Star Wars and Avatar

On display alongside the Xperia 1 is the camera that George Lucas used to film Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones, as well as CineAlta’s “VENICE” camera – the device that James Cameron is using for his sequels to the blockbuster Avatar.

Throughout the exhibit, the incredible 21:9 display takes centre stage.

The Xperia 1 is the world’s first smartphone with a 4K HDR OLED display*, so naturally we wanted to showcase the unprecedented benefits it has to offer.

The display zone is set up to resemble a theatre, combining Dolby Atmos® sound with Xperia 1’s crystal-clear screen for the ultimate cinematic experience, all in 21:9.

Delegates can relax and watch content in 21:9

Here, visitors are treated to content from Sony Pictures’ popular Jumanji remake, showcasing the crisp picture quality from Xperia 1 as stars such as Dwayne Johnson and Jack Black make their way through the jungle. Scenes from Netflix smash Birdbox and Spider-Man: Homecoming are also available to view on the big screen in the ratio their creators filmed them in.

Delegates can also get hands-on with Xperia 1 smartphones loaded with music videos and gaming content, in addition to plenty of 21:9 content straight from the Netflix app.

As you might expect from Sony, the Xperia 1 is the perfect device for gaming, and the on-site gaming area showcases the truly immersive nature of playing Fornite, Arena of Valor and Asphalt 9 on a 21:9 CinemeWide™ screen, allowing you to experience games like never before. Watch this space for more information on 21:9 gaming content coming to the blog soon.

This demo also showcases the award-winning BRAVIA® expertise that inspired the technologies in the Xperia 1. In a side-by-side playback on BRAVIA® Master series screens, delegates can see how X1TM for mobile offers HDR remastering technologies to delivers the content to you in greater contrast, colour and clarity.

When it comes to the sound quality of the new Xperia line-up, visitors have been blown away by the immersive sound experience from Dolby Atmos® and Hi-Res audio. The audio zone at MWC explores the sound possibilities of Sony’s all-new Xperia 1, Xperia 10 and Xperia 10 Plus, with visitors invited to try them out on premium WH-1000XM3 over-ear headphones.
