All you need to know about the 2018 Champion’s League final

What’s been happening in the Champion’s League so far?

It’s been an interesting few months for the Champion’s League, which has seen all but one English team fall to the masses of talent within overseas sides such as Barcelona and Bayern Munich. There’s been drama as Liverpool took on Manchester City and arose victorious, despite seeming the little guy entering the match, and with Real Madrid as they fought back against a 3-0 aggregate against Juventus. When Juventus’s legendary goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon picked up a red card, Real Madrid were given a crucial last-minute penalty. As Ronaldo stepped up to take the final kick of the game against ex-Arsenal, second keeper Wojech Szczęsny, it was a dramatic end to the match that resulted in Real Madrid qualifying for the semi-final.

Now, with just four teams left, Liverpool hold the last hope for an English Champion’s League winner. But with top class teams Bayern Munich, Roma and Real Madrid in their way, it’s looking to be a tough competition moving forwards.

2017 Champion’s League final

Last year’s Champion’s League final found Real Madrid facing down against Juventus, emerging victorious with a 4-1 win over the Italian side. Real Madrid then became the first team ever to defend their Champion’s League title, their 12th in the competition. With striker Cristiano Ronaldo as the all-time top scorer in the Champion’s League, holding 120 goals in 150 appearances, it’s no surprise that they’re such a successful team. However, with Real Madrid third in the Spanish league, can they withstand first place German team Bayern Munich to survive through to the final?
