Oscar season is well and truly here, and to get you hyped for the ceremonies in the most fun way possible, we’ve tracked down five Oscar winning films – one for each of the biggest awards – available on Netflix right now.

Best picture – All About Eve
An all-time classic, and a must-see for Bette Davis fans, the 1950 comedy-drama All About Eve won not only the Best Picture Oscar but five others including Best Director, and was nominated for a further eight.
Best Actress – Frances McDormand, Fargo
Considered by many to be a modern masterpiece, 1996’s Fargo also has the honour of introducing most moviegoing audiences to the supremely unique talents of Frances McDormand. And with the whispers suggesting McDormand as a shoo-in for this year’s best actor too, you could do a whole lot worse than going back to see where it all started.
Best Actor – Gregory Peck, To Kill a Mockingbird
The consummate movie star, Gregory Peck’s well-deserved Oscar-winning turn in To Kill a Mockingbird as Atticus Finch was immortalised in 2003 when the character was named the greatest movie hero of the 20th Century. And it’s easy to see why – Peck never lets his own charisma stand in the way of allowing the character’s inherent decency and strength of will to shine through.
Best Original Screenplay – Network
Another multi-oscar winning film, Network picked up four Oscars in total, including Best Actor and Best Actress. But Paddy Chayefsky’s unforgettable, darkly satirical script, with the famous Mad As Hell speech, has gone down in history as one of Hollywood’s all time finest.
Best Director – Damien Chazelle, La La Land
A new entry on the list, but one no less deserved. Damien Chazelle’s third film as director, he and his writing partner spent years getting the project off the ground, and you can easily tell it’s a passion project. A true love letter to the Golden Age of Hollywood, La La Land is a great pick-me-up for when you’re feeling blue.
