Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members on Windows PC can launch Battlefield 2042 open beta early access from the Game Hub on the EA app. To launch the open beta, go to the Battlefield 2042 Game Hub and click on “Download.” Once the download is complete you just click “play” to launch the beta. Note: The Battlefield 2042 open beta will not appear on the Xbox app. For more information, check out the official Battlefield 2042 FAQ.
Your open beta experience will feature Conquest Mode, which is the quintessential large-scale Battlefield game mode where up to 128 players (64 players on Xbox One) can fight for control of key objectives across the map, known as Sectors. Expect a variety of pacing across this massive map, with moments comprised of exhilarating gameplay when groups of players collide or skillful one on one action as you battle it out defending a control point — there’s going to be plenty of action to go around.
The map featured during the open beta will be Orbital, where a massive rocket will cast a shadow over the chaos on the ground. Yes, it can take off. And yes, it can be destroyed. The map is also an ideal candidate to showcase classic Battlefield-esc clashes you’ve grown to love featuring a healthy dose of vehicles, air, and infantry fighting over key objectives throughout the area. Oh, and watch out for the massive tornado that can appear at random times just to keep things interesting.
Also featured in this open beta will be the chance to play as four unique specialists: Casper (Recon), Mackay (Assault), Falck (Support), and Boris (Engineer). Each class brings a different dynamic in how you play in Battlefield 2042 and finding a specialist that suits you is part of the fun. Get full details on each of the Specialists here, their strengths, and how best to deploy them to the battlefield.
