For the best broadband experience in these drizzly months, research by Virgin Media O2 reveals nearly 1 in 5 (18%) broadband users break the golden rule by switching their Hub off overnight. This can hamper their experience as it prevents any overnight software updates that happen overnight and can lead to broadband lags.
Virgin Media O2’s Director of Connectivity, Gareth Lister, has provided some tips to help broadband users get the most from their services and how low-income households can save on their bills:
- Don’t switch your Hub off overnight.
- Give your Hub space, make sure it’s out in the open.
- Check your speeds via the Connect App.
For any customers worried about paying their broadband bills during the winter months, Virgin Media O2 offers a range of options to make sure they can stay connected including:
- Virgin Media’s Essential Broadband contract: This starts from £12.50 a month for 15 Mbps on a 30-day rolling contract* and is available to new and existing customers who may need a more affordable.
- O2’s Essential Plan: At £10 a month for 10GB of data and unlimited calls and texts.
- The National Databank: Founded by O2, the initiative provides free O2 mobile data, texts and calls to people in need.
- The Priority app: All Virgin Media and O2 customers can access the Priority app for no extra cost, giving them access to exclusive rewards and offers worth up to almost £500, including free treats and rewards.
