Hello, Xbox fans!
We’re super excited to be releasing At Sundown: Shots in the Dark today! It feels like it was yesterday when we entered our humble college project into Microsoft Imagine in 2016. And now we’re here on Xbox One!
At Sundown: Shots in the Dark is a top-down arena shooter where you’re only visible in the light or when you’re shooting. Whenever you’re in the shadows, you’re invisible to everyone else! So, as you can guess, the key to success is hiding in the dark as much as possible. But there’s more to it than that! Here are some tips to help you become king of the shadows.
Master Each Weapon’s Primary Fire
In At Sundown: Shots in the Dark, you’ll start out with four weapons: Shotgun, Autorifle, Revolvers, and SMG. As you keep playing, you’ll keep unlocking more weapons, until you have a total of 11!
Each weapon shoots differently, so it’s important to adjust your playstyle accordingly. For example, the Sniper shoots through walls. It also has 1 shot in its clip, so be careful not to stay too long in one place (you dirty camper). The Lobshot is a grenade launcher that shoots, well, grenades. They’ve got a bigger kill radius, so go ahead and spam them into tight corridors like the crazy maniac you are.
Master Each Weapon’s Alt-Fire
When you press RB, you’ll trigger your weapon’s alt-fire; these are all different for every weapon as well! For the Sniper, you’ll drop a remote mine, which you can detonate by pressing RB again. Be careful not to kill yourself with it! For the Lobshot, if you hold down RB you’ll bring up an arc that allows you to shoot grenades over walls! (Can I get a Kobe up in here?)
Master Running and Dodging
Sometimes you just need to get somewhere fast. That’s we added the revolutionary invention of running in At Sundown: Shots in the Dark. Just hold down LT to do so. However, there’s a twist in our game – running creates dust particles that make you visible, even in the dark! So don’t run around too much, as everyone will see you coming.
If you’re in a tight situation, you can press LB to dodge in the direction you’re moving in. You can shoot while dodging, but after the dodge, you won’t be able to move normally for a bit. Make sure you position yourself so that you can go in for the counterattack!
We hope you enjoy all the work we put into At Sundown: Shots in the Dark. See you… At Sundown!
