Here at Avalanche Studios and Expansive Worlds, we are incredibly excited to bring theHunter: Call of the Wild to Xbox One. It’s the first venture for theHunter franchise into the world of gamepads and comfortable couch gaming and we can’t wait for you to take a stroll in our virtual worlds. A lot of you have been asking to get the game on Xbox One and now it is finally here!

We wanted to take this opportunity to help you hit the ground running, and offer some pointers on how to become a successful hunter. First things first — theHunter is all about taking your time. You play in first-person view, but be careful not to settle into old shooting habits, as the game is different from pretty much every other FPS (first-person shooter) game out there. It might take some time to get used to, but start by avoid running. This experience is all about getting close to animals and running makes you very visible while also producing noise. This will risk spooking animals before you can even see them.

Learn to use your surroundings by hiding behind trees and foliage, or go completely prone to avoid being seen by animals. Hide your scent by using the ever-useful scent eliminator and watch out for the direction of wind, represented by the green cone on your compass, so animals won’t smell you coming. Animals give off warning calls once they sense you. Use them to your advantage and start sneaking. If you start playing slowly and quietly, you will be taking down impressive animals in no time. That said, the consequences of shooting are very important to us. Quick, painless takedowns are rewarded as we want to communicate the importance of ethical hunting.

Xbox One is a great platform to experience theHunter: Call of the Wild. Relax on your couch and immersive yourself in the beautiful nature created using our proprietary Apex – Avalanche Open World Engine. Enjoy the living world and take it easy until you find that crucial clue – footsteps, a call or trampled vegetation – that sets you off to stalk your prey and take the shot.

Of course, there’s always an opportunity for some more lighthearted gameplay, even in a realistic hunting game like ours. Meet your friends for a shooting range showdown and earn bragging rights by boosting the steadiest hand in the group, or go on an ATV ride through the reserve at breakneck speeds. The noise of the engine will likely spook every animal around, but it’s going to be worth it!

So, in closing, if you are looking for something new and different to play, then give theHunter: Call of the Wild a try. A lot of passion, sweat, and tears went into making this game and we love to talk to the community about it. Your ideas, feedback and hunting stories are as important to us as the opinions on the team, and we can’t wait to hear from all the Xbox One players. Happy hunting!
