Webseries : DONTNOD Presents Vampyr Episode 3 - Human After All

Dontnod Presents Vampyr – Episode III: Human After All introduces more exclusive gameplay footage, while focusing on the citizens of London and how each individual has been hand-crafted to feel as human as possible. This is the penultimate episode of this four-part webseries with the final episode releasing next Thursday.

In Episode III: Human After All, DONTNOD reveals how integral each districts citizens are, both in terms of gameplay and narrative. Players will need to gain XP for Jonathan Reid to evolve new powers and grow stronger, but the most lucrative way to earn this is not through quests or defeating enemies in battle. Instead, the most effective way to get stronger is by killing and feeding on the various citizens living within the game’s four districts.

Players will hear the dying thoughts of every citizen they choose to sacrifice. This gives a bittersweet poignancy to every death, as DONTNOD wants players to not consider these citizens as nameless blood bags. In addition, each dead citizen will erode the status of the district they belonged to, with too many resulting in the population evacuating districts and causing them to be overrun by Skals and worse.

Meet Team Xbox’s Brad Rossetti

Meet Team Xbox’s Brad Rossetti

Last month we spent some time talking to the Xbox Insider Program’s XP champion, The Wee Bear, and this week we’re chatting with Xbox Program Manager Brad Rossetti, who you may know as @WorkWombatman on Twitter. Brad plays a big role in managing and communicating system updates, from posting release notes on The Xbox Insider blog to answering questions posed by Xbox Insiders on Twitter and Reddit and much more. Below, Brad takes some time to better explain his role (and the role of the Xbox Insider team) and talks about some of his favorite games!

Wombatman Info

Hi there! For starters, what is your role with Team Xbox?

Brad: I am a Program Manager responsible for Platform and Hardware Previews.  Essentially, this means my team and I provide users with early access to system updates and features. We complement this internally with  early access to hardware. My role also involves managing my team and our release process in a way that ensures we’re listening to feedback from our end-users and shipping quality products and services.

And how long have you been a member of Team Xbox?

Brad: I have been a team member of Xbox for 7 years.

You often Tweet about games you’re enjoying on Xbox One. What game(s) are you playing now?

Brad: I am obsessed with Assassin’s Creed: Origins, which is funny as I really do not like RPGs! I’m also playing Forza Horizon 3 (as an Australian it at least allows me to see the sun when living in Seattle!) and Planet of the Eyes (a fantastic puzzle platformer). I honestly enjoy any short game that lets me maximize Gamerscore every month, given we (members of Team Xbox) have a little competition going. Please send me your suggestions!

Do you have an Achievement you’re proudest of?

Brad: Honestly, it would be the “G-Unit” achievement from an obscure game called 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand. One night, I honestly sat down with this title and joined a random co-op session with another Xbox User. We completed the campaign over a 4-hour session and honestly it was one of the most satisfying online experiences I have ever had on a console. I am now striving to unlock the complete all locations achievement (“Old Habits”) in Assassin’s Creed: Origins and have three more locations to complete after 80 hours of gameplay.

Why would you recommend joining the Xbox Insider Program?

Brad: Users are able to obtain early access to content (such as games and apps) and new system features as well as provide feedback on the experience. The amazing part of previewing system updates is that a user can file a bug using the “Report a problem” tool, and within 24 hours, the Dev Team has looked at the bug and worked on a fix that we can then flight back out to Xbox Insiders within 2-4 days. There is no time commitment to being an Xbox Insider – all you need is a passion for trying new things, providing feedback and, most importantly, having fun!

Vehicle-Building Adventure Trailmakers Coming Soon to Xbox One

Vehicle-Building Adventure Trailmakers Coming Soon to Xbox One

Let’s see a show of hands. Who loves Lego? And who loves the idea of building any vehicle they can dream up, and racing it around an alien planet tailor-made to be a grease monkey’s paradise? If your arms are still in the air, we think you might just fall in love with Trailmakers too.

But what is Trailmakers exactly? Well, inquisitive reader, it’s a thrilling new sandbox game coming to Xbox One Game Preview that gives you the freedom to create and customize the ride of your dreams, whether that’s a dune buggy, plane, helicopter, or something else entirely, and take it on an otherworldly adventure.

In Trailmakers’ Expedition mode, we provide a destination on the opposite end of the planet and it’s up to you to find a way to get there. But on a hazardous extraterrestrial world, that journey isn’t as simple as getting from A to B. After piecing together a wagon from the barest of essentials, you’ll set out into the badlands and scrape together whatever parts you can find to keep on truckin’ en route to the finish line.

If you’d rather skip out on scrounging around in the desert for abandoned rocket boosters and the like, you can always jump straight into Sandbox mode and construct a hydraulic robot with limitless resources. Without constraints, you’re free to listen to your heart and bring to life the craziest contraptions your imagination can muster. That’s not to say your works of genius will always be effective modes of transport, but it’s still always a blast getting your hands dirty and seeing how it turns out.

What’s also fun is sharing the experience with friends in multiplayer. Start your own races, soar alongside one another in jets, or argue over who did the sickest trick off that crazy ramp. While we’re not liable for any damaged relationships, we’ll gladly take credit for all the new buddies you’ll make out there.

We hope Trailmakers is already stoking the fires of your imagination, and we can’t wait to see what you create once the game zooms its way onto Xbox One Game Preview. Until then, you can reach us on Twitter at @PlayTrailmakers. Catch you on the trail!
