British parents are becoming more reliant on deals and discounts to fund quality family time due to the cost-of-living crisis, with 7 in 10 admitting that managing the cost of keeping their children occupied has become much harder than in past years according to new research from Virgin Media O2.

The new research, which polled over 1,000 parents in the UK, also revealed that nearly half (47%) of parents now place looking for vouchers and discounts as their top consideration when planning family fun, with 6 in 10 (61%) admitting to feeling worried about being able to afford fun activities for their children to do. The findings also reveal that younger parents (18-29) are most affected by the anxieties of affording family activities, with the age group relying the most on discounts and vouchers.
