King Arthur is a symbol of destiny, royalty, and leadership. Although the story has been told differently, a few things always stay true. Destined to be king from a young age, he triumphs over any challenges along the way. Creating an era of peace in the Kingdom of Camelot by uniting a war-torn country, he fights alongside his chivalrous knights, leading by example — the ultimate hero in a world filled with warfare, magic, and dragons.
In Smite: Battleground of the Gods, King Arthur will join the ranks of characters like Thor, Anubis, and Achilles. In a game filled with legendary heroes from all different cultures, King Arthur felt like a natural fit.
King Arthur will bring a unique combat style to the game, focusing on melee combos with his iconic sword, Excalibur. He has more abilities than the average god that are complemented by low cooldowns and mana costs. Because of this design style he benefits greatly from a tank-like warrior build that allows him to stay in the fight for longer periods of time so he can string together combos.
This character was designed to feel different from the rest of the roster. All his attacks are catered toward an action game style, and he feels especially good when played on a controller.
King Arthur brings so many new things to Smite, in both the scope of the game’s universe and the range of gameplay. He is truly a great milestone for us!
