Looking Closer at the Invisible Brilliance of the Galaxy S9
Under the surface of the beautiful Infinity Display of the Galaxy S9 and S9+, there lies Samsung’s leading-edge components working together to enable new levels of user experiences. Here, we take a look at the technology making the new Samsung devices the best yet – and most of it is under the hood.
Advanced Solutions for Powerful Mobile Computing
One prime example is the Exynos 9 Series 9810 processor, built on the most advanced 2nd generation 10-nanometer LPP process technology. The processor delivers powerful performance with its 3rd generation CPU and seamless connectivity with a 1.2Gbps DL 6CA Cat.18 LTE modem.
Next up is the LPDDR4X memory chip, offering 4-gigabyte (GB) and 6GB for the Galaxy S9 and S9+ respectively. The industry’s most up-to-date mobile DRAM solution provides breakthrough RAM performance and energy efficiency that enables prompt multitasking and data processing for advanced mobile applications such as 4K UHD video recording and virtual computing.
The technology inside the Galaxy S9 and S9+ also goes to great lengths to protect its users’ precious data. Both devices store the data in the eUFS, an embedded high-speed mobile storage solution for flagship devices, with capacity options of 256GB, 128GB and 64GB. Based on Samsung’s proprietary V-NAND technology, the eUFS enables blazingly fast data reading and downloading under today’s heavy multimedia content use environment.
Enhanced Imaging and Video Features including Super Slow-motion Recording
The main image sensor, the ISOCELL Fast 2L3, records at 960fps for a stunning super slow-motion video, while the front-facing ISOCELL Bright 3H1 image sensor ensures the best selfies even in low light settings.
Plus, the patterned, lens-integrated flash LED component next to the rear camera enhances the quality of images even further with its high luminous intensity and uniformity.
Security, Power and Touch Command Management Reinforced Once Again
Elsewhere, the iris sensor enables a fast yet highly secure option to unlock or authorize application access. OLED DDI (Display Driver IC) paints the Infinity Display beautifully while the touch controller enables instant feedback to your fingers’ commands. Last but not the least, the power management IC delivers a stable supply of power, letting the device to perform optimally and efficiently.
Samsung Electronics’ Device Solutions Division offers innovative semiconductor and LED solutions that are hidden under the covers of today’s most up-to-date mobile and IT devices like the Galaxy S9 and S9+. While the solutions might be invisible to the users, they contribute to making a world of difference in performance and user experience.
