Leah Carper was named the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction 2022 Burrough Welcome Fund NC Teacher of the Year. She is an enthusiastic and energetic English teacher at North Guilford High School. As the NC Teacher of the Year, she is not teaching in a classroom this year, but instead is traveling around the state to advocate for students and public education. She received technology from Lenovo as part of her prize package and says her laptop enables her to stay in touch when she’s on the road. Our video team tagged along with her for a day in the life of the teacher of the year to see all of the amazing ways she’s sharing her love of education.
