Excitement around the Copilot+ PC continues to grow
This week at IFA in Berlin, we saw incredible innovation and announcements from our ecosystem partners across hardware and silicon, all focused on expanding the portfolio of Copilot+ PCs. These announcements demonstrate that the PC ecosystem is all in on delivering the best possible AI experiences to our customers.
Copilot+ PCs, now available from AMD, Intel and Qualcomm, will offer leading AI experiences, unmatched performance and battery life, and the highest security standards, equipping our customers with the best PC built for AI. With the collaboration and dedication of our partners, this new category is driving positive momentum with customers, earning accolades from creators and after 9 weeks post launch has achieved 20x the adoption rate of touch PCs over a similar time [1].
Unveiling new Copilot+ PC technology and devices
Customers now have expanded choice when making their purchase decision with the new AMD Ryzen AI 300 [2], Intel Core Ultra 200V [2], and Qualcomm X Plus 8-core technology coming to the Copilot+ PC portfolio. These announcements reflect a significant step forward in Microsoft’s AI-driven innovation, offering a glimpse into the future of personal computing with Copilot+ PCs.
AMD Ryzen AI
AMD Ryzen AI 300 Series processors are built on the new AMD “Zen 5” architecture, delivering not only outstanding performance, but also compelling battery life. These processors also deliver next generation 50+ TOPS NPU, WiFi 7 and Pluton. We are excited to see customers already enjoying systems powered by AMD Ryzen AI 300 Series, including some that feature a dedicated GPU to deliver unparalleled power for creators and gamers.
Intel Core Ultra
Intel Core Ultra 200V series processors were launched by Intel at IFA, representing another step forward in the Copilot+ PC portfolio. These new processors will deliver exceptional performance, enhanced security with Pluton, strong battery life,and a 40+ TOPS NPU, which will deliver compelling AI capabilities.
Snapdragon X Plus 8-core
Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. introduced their new platform, the Snapdragon X Plus 8-core This new silicon expands our Snapdragon-powered Copilot+ PC portfolio and brings their 45 TOPS NPU to the Snapdragon X Plus 8 core processor. It offers class-leading efficiency and performance, supports up to three external monitors and enables Copilot+ PC experiences on new devices. Building on the initial success of Copilot+ PCs built on Snapdragon X Elite, this 8-core platform brings the best of Windows to high-powered, thin, light and cost-effective Copilot+ PCs, offering choice for our customers who are seeking a powerful yet affordable PC.
Microsoft partner Copilot+ PC portfolio growth
Our partners and the industry are committed to this new PC category, and we are proud to highlight their announcements at IFA as they implement the new silicon technology, demonstrating that there is a new Copilot+ PC for everyone.
- Acer expanded their Copilot+ PC lineup with the Swift Go 14 AI laptop powered by Snapdragon X Plus platform, Swift 14 AI models with Intel Core Ultra processors and AMD Ryzen AI 9 365 processor, and the TravelMate P6 14 AI with the Intel Core Ultra processor, giving customers their choice of processor and new enhanced capabilities.
- ASUS introduced new Copilot+ PCs to their Zenbook, Vivobook, Expertbook and NUC lineups, featuring Intel Core Ultra processors with integrated NPUs for enhanced AI capabilities at IFA 2024.
- Dell announced the new XPS 13 featuring Intel®Core Ultra processors Series 2, as well as the availability of the Inspiron 14 and Latitude 5455 powered by Snapdragon X Plus 8-core.
- HP debuted their HP OminiBook Ultra Flip 14 2-1 laptop this week, with a sleek and slim 360 design powered by the new Intel Core Ultra Series 2 processors.
- Lenovo unveiled new additions to its Yoga, ThinkPad, and ThinkBook portfolios, including the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition, ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 13 Aura Editions, and Yoga Pro 7 Editions, all supporting Copilot+ PC experiences.
- Samsung expanded its Copilot+ PC portfolio with a new model for the Galaxy Book4 series and an all-new Galaxy Book5 Pro 360. The new Galaxy Book5 series device comes with performance upgrades made possible by the Intel Core Ultra Series 2 processor, enabling next-level computing power and enhanced AI experiences with more than 300 AI-accelerated features across over 100 creativity, productivity, gaming and entertainment applications.
