At IFA 2022, ASUS shared the availability to order its 17.3-inch foldable OLED Intel Evo-certified laptop, a 2-in-1 Windows 11 PC, the ASUS Zenbook 17 Fold OLED. It’s a device that aims to satisfy both work and downtime needs anytime, anywhere, with its versatility, power and security.
Its design enables it to have two sizes of OLED display in one PC. It has a large 17.3-inch 2.5K touchscreen that folds in the middle to create two seamless 12.5-inch 1920 by 1280 displays. When it’s fully folded and closed along its 180-degree hinge, it’s a 12.5-inch device.
It comes with a full-size ErgoSense Bluetooth keyboard and touchpad that adds to the many ways it can be used – in modes such as desktop, laptop, tablet, reader or extended. The stepless hinge is built to firmly hold the upper screen at any angle. The keyboard can also connect to two Bluetooth-enabled devices, switching between them via a dedicated button. With Windows 11, these many configurations and the touchscreen work well with Snap Layouts and multiple desktops.
Intel Evo-certified, the Zenbook 17 Fold OLED is made for multitasking thanks to high-performance components such as a 12th Gen Intel Core i7-1250U processor, Intel Iris Xe graphics, 16 GB RAM and a 1 TB PCIe SSD. The long-lasting 75 watt-hour battery features USB-C Easy Charge, so it can be charged quickly with most USB-C chargers or power banks, or any Power Delivery-certified charger, including the bundled 65 W fast-charge adapter. And when the need arises to connect it to peripherals, there are two USB-C Thunderbolt 4 ports, which are up to 8 times faster than USB 3.2 Gen 1.
When paired with Windows 11, it’s a productivity powerhouse as users tap into Microsoft Edge and PC Game Pass, among many features included in the operating system.
And when the workday is done – or during breaks – this PC delivers an immersive experience for the ears and eyes for watching movies and TV shows or playing games. The display is Dolby Vision certified for realistic HDR visuals and PANTONE Validated for color accuracy. It has a cinema-grade 100% DCI-P3 color gamut for vivid colors. It’s also TÜV Rheinland certified for low blue-light emissions and flicker-free operation. The Harman Kardon-certified quad-speaker Dolby Atmos audio system adds a new spatial dimension for an ultra-realistic listening experience. The speakers are driven by a smart amplifier that maximizes volume — up to 3.5 times louder than a standard amplifier — while minimizing distortion.
The device can also detect when the user moves away from the laptop, activating a dimmer screen to save battery life and locking it.
The ASUS Zenbook 17 Fold OLED is expected to be available starting in October for $3,499. Find out more at ASUS.
