Samsung KNOX offers a separate environment for work, called the Knox container.

Samsung KNOX will help you as an IT administrator to keep the enterprise data safe and protected, while keeping the employee’s personal information separate and confidential.

Let’s get a photo as an email attachment in the container. This picture may contain confidential information. You can see the picture and share it through those applications that have been approved by the company. However, in your personal home gallery, you cannot see any picture that has been taken in KNOX mode. Pictures taken from your personal home however can be shared as you choose.

As an IT Admin it will protect the work images – the employee will not be able to see it outside of the container.

There are two ways to install business apps in Knox mode:

An IT administrator can specify applications for each employee, and push them to be installed in the container.

Employees can download and install various applications from KNOX Apps for their own business productivity.

If employees lose their smartphones, or if any security incident occurs, the container can be locked. In this event, the KNOX container cannot be used unless an IT administrator unlocks it.

When employees leave the company, all the contents in the container can be wiped, although their personal data will remain unaffected.
