Since we launched The Quest for the Golden Bananas on March 19, more than 10,000 players signed up from around the world, trying their luck to solve our global, digital treasure hunt and win a bunch of 18-carat golden bananas.

Today, we’re excited to announce the winning crew is ‘Herr Crew’ from France. The team solved
15 fiendishly difficult pirate riddles, and were the closest to pinpoint Umbra’s exact location in our final task, the Ultimate Test.

The Ultimate Test tasked the finalists with finding Umbra’s location using map coordinates. After successfully locating her, ‘Herr Crew’ spoke with Umbra who, with their help, dug up the bananas and rewarded them with the treasure.

‘Herr Crew’ will receive a truly unique prize – four 18-carat gold bananas, crafted by London’s famous Smith & Harris Goldsmiths to resemble the health source in Sea of Thieves, valued at £80,000*. Each team member of ‘Herr Crew’ will also receive a one-off in-game outfit for use with their pirate character in Sea of Thieves.

In the Ultimate Test, ‘Herr Crew’ was matched up against four other finalists:

  • SwashBuckleys, Australia
  • Die Germans, Germany
  • The boys, Canada
  • Fun Brigade, USA

Runners up will be rewarded with limited edition Sea of Thieves ‘doubloons’ exclusively created for The Quest. The bespoke engraved golden coins are valued at over £300 each**.

We hope everyone continues their personal quests in Sea of Thieves, undertaking ocean-spanning voyages and battling through Skeleton Forts on the way to becoming a Pirate Legend.
