This evening at E3 2018 we got a look at several games coming soon to Xbox One from Bethesda, as well as further details on Fallout 76, Rage 2, as well as new announcements for franchises like Doom, The Elder Scrolls Online, and Prey. With the stated goal of wanting to highlight where they’re at now, but as well as where they’re going, Bethesda Softworks delivered a ton of news on games they’re working on… oh, and confirming The Elder Scrolls VI exists.

Rage 2

Naturally, with his song highlighted in the reveal trailer a few weeks ago, it was only fitting to have Andrew WK kick things off with a deeper look at the upcoming open-world shooter Rage 2. Taking on the role of Walker, the last ranger on Earth, we were given more of a look at the crazy and seamless open world this game is striving for. The gameplay demo featured a ton of elements we can look forward to play with once the game comes out in Spring 2019, like vehicular combat, power-up abilities, crazy weapons, and brutal combat.

The Elder Scrolls Legends

The Elder Scrolls Legends has been available on mobile and PC since its release last year. At E3 this year, Bethesda announced a new re-launch of the card battle game, overhauled with new animations, and an Xbox One version coming later this year. For existing players, it will be possible to carry over all earned progress from PC or mobile to the console version.

The Elder Scrolls Online

Fresh off the release of Summerset, we were treated with a feature-rich trailer recapping all the adventures players have encountered with all the existing expansions in TESO. There were also the first bits of information about upcoming DLC Wolfhunter, which will release later this year, as well as story-based content focused on the Argonian race.

Doom Eternal

With a brief trailer literally showing Hell on Earth, we got our first glimpse into the world of Doom Eternal, the sequel to one of the most critically-acclaimed shooters of 2016. No gameplay was shown, only highlighting there will be twice as many unique demons and that Bethesda will have more information to share on this new Doom game later this year at QuakeCon in August.

Prey

With a new story mode, new game plus, and survival mode updates available to Prey, a new DLC named Mooncrash was also announced, allowing you to play a rogue-like version of the game in a VR simulator in which you must escape from a TranStar moon base, where each death will reset the simulator, and each VR run having unique enemies and hazards to overcome.

Also revealed was the Typhon Hunter multiplayer mode in which one player must survive against five other players who get to play as a mimic, hiding in plain sight throughout the station. Typhon Hunter will be a free update available later this year and Mooncrash is paid DLC that’s available now.

Wolfenstein Youngblood

The first details and a new trailer were shown for the next chapter in the Wolfenstein series featuring BJ Blazkowicz’s twin daughters in 1980s Paris. Wolfsenstein Youngblood is billing itself as a full co-op experience – one that can also be played in single-player – which will continue the story of The Resistance as they fight back against the Nazi scourge. Youngblood is set to release later next year.

Fallout 76

These were the details everyone was looking for after the first teaser was released just a few weeks ago. Fallout 76 is a prequel to all the previous Fallout games with world that’s four times the size of Fallout 4, set in the hills of West Virginia, as you take on the role as one of the first to emerge from a vault into a very different wasteland – one that you can experience online with other players.

With six unique regions and new creatures to battle, you can work with other players to build up settlements together, take on quests, and battle it out with other players in Fallout 76. There will still be the option to play this new entry in the Fallout series on your own, but it looks like most of the fun can be had when questing together with friends online.

More information was given as well on how co-op questing would work, how to build structures (you can build wherever you want on the world map), as well as find ways to retaliate against other play settlements thanks to some spare nuclear armament that’s laying around in the wasteland.

To help test this new way of playing a Fallout game, there will be a Break-It Early Test Application (B.E.T.A.) where plays will be able to jump in and help Bethesda iron out any kinks before release. While no date was given when the B.E.T.A. will take place, we were given a launch date of November 14, 2018 for Fallout 76.

The Elder Scrolls Blades

While no footage was shown of the Xbox One version of The Elder Scrolls Blades, it was revealed as its intention to be a crossplay experience between mobile, console, and PC players as you embark on a set of new quests that harken back to the original games of the series like The Elder Scrolls: Arena. Available soon on mobile devices with an Xbox One release planned for later this year.

Starfield & The Elder Scrolls Online VI

The last two trailers to come out of this evening were confirmations on two future projects Bethesda has in the works. The first of which, Starfield, is a brand new, next-generation single-player experience the first new IP for Bethesda in nearly 25 years. Not much else was shared beyond an exciting trailer of a space stage in orbit around the planet Earth, leaving us to wonder and speculate about what this sci-fi game has in store for us.

And finally, while nothing more than its logo, epic theme music, and a beautiful look over the land of Tamriel, The Elder Scrolls VI was confirmed to exist and is definitely in the worlds at Bethesda. While no dates were given for either of these announcements, it appears both titles are years away from release.

We’ll have more exciting news to share about Xbox One games at E3 2018 throughout the week, so be sure to keep it tuned here to Xbox Wire.
