Rainbow Six Siege’s Year 6 forges ahead with the arrival of Season 3, Crystal Guard, now available on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. Like previous seasons, Crystal Guard brings with it a new Operator – an attacker named Osa who wields the Talon-8 Shield as her gadget. Naturally, this is no ordinary shield. The Talon-8 provides cover for Osa’s head as she carries it (unlike other Defenders’ deployable shields), but most importantly, it has a transparent, bulletproof section that lets Osa see potential threats and enemies, creating space for some interesting tactical options. Osa also comes equipped with either a 556xi or a PDW9 as her primary weapon, and a PMM as a secondary weapon.
Crystal Guard also features reworked maps. Coastline, Bank, and Clubhouse have all received modifications and changes, ranging from closed windows and new alleys to more destructible parts and new bomb site placements. Along with general updates and improvements, several Operators have received tweaks in the name of balance, including Finka, Sledge, Gaz, Iana, Twitch, UQ, Mute, and Fuze. These updates are free to all players.
In addition to the new gameplay updates, Season 3 players will have access to a free and Premium (available for 1,200 R6 Credits) track, 100-tier Battle Pass that includes 133 rewards and will be available until November 23. Any players who purchase the Premium Battle Pass will have immediate access to Osa, but she will be available to all other players via Renown or R6 Credits on September 21.
If you’ve yet to jump into Rainbow Six Siege, the game will be free-to-play on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S from September 9 to September 12. You can also grab it at a discount of up to 80% off at that time, and your progress from the free weekend will transfer over to the full retail version of the game. Rainbow Six Siege is also available to play with Xbox Game Pass.
