At CES 2024, AMD unveiled their AMD Radeon RX 7600 XT Graphics Card and expanded its portfolio of desktop and mobile processors. They are also bringing the power of a dedicated AI neural processing unit (NPU) to desktop PC processors for the first time with Ryzen AI to unlock more AI capabilities and improve productivity, efficiency and advanced collaboration.
AMD partners such as Acer, ASUS, Lenovo, HP and Razer are also introducing more Windows 11-powered laptops and handheld gaming systems that have AMD Ryzen 8040 Series processors, first announced at the AMD Advancing AI event in December. This series puts AI front and center with integrated Ryzen AI NPUs on select models.
The event featured the introduction of the AMD Ryzen 8000G Series desktop processors, which have eight cores and 16 threads for intensive workloads such as gaming and content creation. These processors are optimized for efficiency with low power draw without sacrificing performance or responsiveness. Built to take advantage of the speedy AMD Zen 4 architecture, the 8000G Series processors enable energy efficiency. All 8000G Series desktop processor models offer the power of Radeon 700M for fast built-in graphics so gamers will benefit from impressive visual fidelity. The processors also provide a smooth AAA 1080p gaming experience at an affordable price point and in small form factors.
For gaming enthusiasts, AMD Ryzen 5000 Series desktop processors are built on the AMD Zen 3 architecture, which optimizes performance with higher clock speeds and improved efficiency. AMD extends this series with four new processors, led by the AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D, which delivers 100MB of on-chip memory to provide power and productivity gains for games and apps. Also announced was the AMD Radeon RX 7600 XT graphics card, offering fast, smooth and visually stunning gaming and raytracing experiences at 1080p and beyond. This new card features 16GB of high-speed GDDR6 memory, unleashing users’ creativity in next-gen AI and content creation workloads.
