Xperia photo challenge: Incredible smartphone images captured by Xperia owners around the world
Last month, we told you all about our new-look monthly challenge, featuring incredible photography taken on Xperia smartphones.
And needless to say, you didn’t disappoint us, submitting incredible imagery taken on devices including the XZ3 – with its 19MP Motion EyeTM camera – and the XZ2 Premium with its standout low-light capabilities.
The theme for January’s challenge was ‘Lifestyle’, and among the images we chose to feature was this stellar shot, showing the historic yellow trams of Lisbon and the city’s unique architecture.
The ‘Lifestyle’ theme saw plenty of calm, soothing images come through, with this shot using clever composition to add to a feeling of rest and relaxation. Taken in the Philippines, the picture encompasses beach, forest, sea and sky, but doesn’t feel over-complicated.

In a more colourful shot, this Xperia enthusiast captured some gorgeous umbrellas appearing to fly above the pavement.
We hope that’s given you some inspiration, because the February challenge is now open for entries!
The theme for February is ‘Day and Night’, so get thinking about the pictures you could submit over the next month to feature on Xperia’s Instagram and Facebook channels, as well as right here on the blog!
The brief is open to interpretation, so there’s no excuse not to take part. All you need do to participate is to take an image using your Xperia device, upload it to Instagram, and tag it with #Xperia so we get to see it.
