X019: CrossfireX: The Journey to Bring One of the World’s Biggest Games to Console

At the E3 Media Briefing this year I was surprised to hear Phil Spencer’s announcement about CrossfireX, a first-person shooter coming exclusively to Xbox consoles in 2020 and the first console version of one of the most played PC games in the world. As someone who has put thousands of hours into FPS games, I was intrigued and knew I needed to learn more about the game.

CrossfireX features the combined efforts of three incredible teams – Smilegate Entertainment from Seoul, South Korea, who bring their decade of expertise crafting innovative multiplayer content for the Crossfire franchise; Remedy Entertainment in Espoo, Finland, who bring their narrative expertise from classics like Alan Wake, Max Payne and Control to craft a single player campaign that brings the Crossfire universe to life; and of course Xbox, who are helping the developers bring Crossfire to console for the first time.

Shortly before X019 I
set out on a journey to learn how these teams came together and learn more
about what they are working on. Hit the video above to find out what I learned
– and be sure and stay tuned to the end for the first gameplay teaser trailer we
also debuted during the X019 Inside Xbox broadcast.

I cannot wait for you all to see what the teams have been working on when CrossfireX hits Xbox consoles in 2020. To keep up with all the latest news stay tuned to www.xbox.com/CrossfireX
