A star-studded guest list including Vanessa Kirby, Joe Cole and Henry Golding mark the countdown to the EE British Academy Film Awards at last night’s Vanity Fair EE Rising Star party

London, Friday 1^st February 2019: Last night, a host of talent from the film, theatre, fashion and music worlds soaked up the glitz and glamour at the Vanity Fair EE Rising Star Party. The star-studded event took place in the newly-renovated Baptist at L’oscar Hotel in Holborn, where guests kicked off the start of the awards season in style.

Stars in attendance celebrating the prestigious EE Rising Star award, now in its 14^th year, included: Vanessa Kirby, Joe Cole, Laura Whitmore, Henry Golding and Luke Pasqualino. Noel Clarke and Alfie Allen were also spotted rubbing shoulders with nominees Jessie Buckley (Beast) who was named a BAFTA Breakthrough Brit in 2017 and Barry Keoghan (American Animals) who first received widespread acclaim for his roles in Killing of A Sacred Deer and Dunkirk.

The EE Rising Star Award recognises emerging actors or actresses who have demonstrated exceptional talent and have captured the imagination of both the public and film industry over the past year. This year’s nominees are Jessie Buckley (Beast), Cynthia Erivo (Bad Times At The El Royale), Barry Keoghan (American Animals), Lakeith Stanfield (Sorry To Bother You) and Letitia Wright (Black Panther). This is the only award voted for by the British Public and will be announced at the EE British Academy Film Awards on Sunday 10^th February 2019. Voting is live at ee.co.uk/BAFTA.

Throughout the evening, guests danced to lively sets from the fashion world’s favourite, DJ Henri, sipped on drinks and cocktails created in partnership with Champagne Taittinger, Villa Maria, CîROC & Peroni.

The team at The Baptist Bar at L’oscar Hotel also created bespoke cocktails in honour of each 2019 EE Rising Star nominee, including:

• Buckley’s Fizz: gin, Orgeat, Elderflower, Plum bitter, Lime, Champagne
• Cosmo Erivo: vodka, Pomegranate juice, Peach liqueur, Lime
• Keoghan’s American Apple: vodka, Bitter Nunquam, Carpano Antica, Apple
• Stanfield’s Sling: gin, Gagliardo Triple sec, Lemon, Sugar, Mediterranean Tonic, Averna
• The Wright One: Orange, Hibiscus, Pineapple, Ginger beer

Selected talent were also treated to a live photo-shoot for Vanity Fair’s renowned Portrait Studio, shot by photographer Zoe McConnell.
