The Gears Pro Circuit and Halo Championship Series Are Coming Together

This summer, two of Xbox’s largest gaming franchises are coming together as the Halo Championship Series and Gears Pro Circuit unite for a unique esports event in New Orleans. Working with Major League Gaming (MLG), The Coalition and 343 Industries will host simultaneous standalone tournaments at the New Orleans Convention Center from July 13th-15th. The event will feature hundreds of players, two main stages, multiple feature stations and two open bracket areas for what’s sure to be a historic spectacle. Fans of both franchises will witness non-stop action and high-quality gameplay all weekend.

Gears Esports Pro Circuit

“Gears of War 4” players will compete for a $250,000 prize pool in what will be one of the most anticipated events in Gears Pro Circuit history. Last month in Las Vegas, Ghost Gaming put the world on notice by going undefeated to claim their first Gears Pro Circuit title. Since that time, OpTic Gaming, coming off one of the most dominant win streaks in esports history, and Echo Fox have both changed their rosters as they look to return to their early season form. Not to be underestimated, the caliber of Gears Pro Circuit international teams continues to impress as Fable, with two top four finishes this season, and Ronin, third in Las Vegas, are both poised to break through and take the trophy out of North America for the first time ever.

Halo Championship Series

Coming off the epic million-dollar Halo World Championship 2018 Finals in Seattle, pro Halo squads across the land are chomping at the bit to get back on the battlefield. The Halo and Gears of War New Orleans Event will feature the top Halo teams and players from across the globe converging on the Big Easy to battle for a $250,000 prize pool. Perennial powerhouses like TOX Gaming and the defending world champions at Splyce look to maintain their hold at the top but will have to deal with exciting new variables like new settings, Forge maps, and the introduction to Oddball in “Halo 5: Guardians” play, all of which promise to add additional intrigue to an already-enticing event.
