Switch network and transfer your mobile number with a PAC

When it comes to switching mobile network it can feel like a big hassle. We feel you. But what if we told you switching to Three was easy and that keeping your number was too?

Why switch?

That’s not all, we’ve got the UK’s lowest Pay As You Go rates and data-packed deals on the must-have phones from Apple and Samsung to Huawei and Google. Plus, if you’re in an area with 4G capability, you’ll get 4G at no extra cost.

Ready to make the move but not sure how? Here’s everything you need to know about switching your mobile provider.

Make sure your phone’s unlocked

If you’re keeping your current phone and changing to a Three SIM, make sure your phone isn’t locked to your old network. Not sure how? Find out how to unlock your phone in our device support.

Want to keep your number?

It’s actually really easy. All you need is your PAC and a couple of minutes to fill in our online form.

What’s a PAC?

Your Port Authorisation Code or PAC is a 9-character code that’s made up of 3 letters and 6 numbers. It lets you move your number to a different network. To get it, give your old network provider a call.

Your PAC will be valid for 30 days and your account with your old network will stay active until you ask your new network to transfer your number.

I’ve got my PAC, now what?

To transfer your old number to Three, just fill in our online form. You’ll need the following info:
• The number you want to move
• Your temporary Three number – you can find this on your Three SIM packaging or in your phone settings.
• Your PAC code

If you’ve taken up a Pay Monthly plan with us then you’ll need to enter your name, date of birth and full address too.

What happens next?

We’ll send you a text or email to let you know when your number will be moved. If you send your form before 5pm Monday to Friday, your number should be transferred the next working day.

So, switching networks doesn’t have to be a headache. And with exciting new Ofcom regulations coming in on 1 July, it’ll be even easier. Keep checking back here for updates.
