Pele, goddess of fire and volcanoes, erupts onto the battleground of the gods with the latest Smite update. Islands and nations have been born from the volcanic forces of Pele, who is capable of great creation, but she also can incinerate her enemies on the battlefield with a series of fiery attacks which leave her surrounded by the smoldering ashes of her enemies.
As the first member of the Polynesian pantheon to join Smite, Pele is worshipped with great love and respect by her people and is considered passionate, powerful, and often unpredictable.
Pele is a volcanic assassin capable of harnessing the power of the elements to obliterate those who oppose her, designed to close in on enemies and initiate combat. Pele can hurl magma from afar, but her true nature as a volcano goddess comes from her explosive abilities that scorch enemies nearby. She can also use her blades to cut enemies down while her abilities recover. Her kit is designed to be easily playable for those new to Smite, but also offers layers of complexity for experienced players.
Polynesian followers of Pele call her Madame out of respect and Smite’s character artists captured her confident nature with her vibrant visual design. Adorned in traditional Polynesian clothing, she walks barefoot to maintain a connection to the lush earth which she has created. Her movements and effects are designed to evoke the duality of both the grace and beauty of nature and its immense destructive powers. This goddess doesn’t just harness the power of the elements; she is a force of nature to be reckoned with.
