O2 venues across the country unveil new artwork celebrating live music

  • 14 O2 venues across the UK have been re-energised while they await the return of live music
  • The artwork has been created by local artists as a part of O2’s This Is Just an Interval campaign
  • Participating locations include O2 Academy Birmingham, Brixton, Oxford, Bournemouth, Leeds and Bristol
  • O2 has collaborated with home-grown talent across the UK to create artworks as a part of its ongoing commitment to support local venues

14 O2 venues across the UK have revealed brand-new looks, with artwork provided by local talent reminding passers-by of the good times they’ve enjoyed at the live music hotspots.

As part of O2’s national This Is Just An Interval campaign, the 14 venues have been re-energised with an entirely new look and feel as the local community eagerly awaits the returning buzz of experiencing live music once again.

O2 identified home-grown talent in each region and commissioned them to create the artwork as part of its ongoing commitment to support local venues. Each of the designs utilised O2’s iconic blue colour palette to bring the venues to life drawing from a variety of influences including 90’s pop culture, comics and graffiti culture.

The full list of venues that have undergone this makeover are:

  • O2 Academy Birmingham
  • O2 Academy Bournemouth

Gareth Griffiths, Head of Sponsorship at O2, said: “We appreciate these continue to be extremely challenging circumstances for live music venues. As we gradually return to normality, it is so important we celebrate O2 venues across the country, many of which are at the very heart of their communities, loved for the many memories that they have created. The nation has experienced an extended break without live music, but this is just an interval and it will be back. We wanted to show our appreciation by ensuring fans remember the good times until we’re all able to enjoy live music together again.”
