Genesis Noir is an adventure game that takes place before, during, and after The Big Bang. A cosmic gunshot expands towards the heart of a god and you must explore the universe, seeking clues on how creation might be undone.
Genesis Noir is a creation myth and a film noir. A love triangle erupts between No Man, a watch peddler stuck in a deterministic hell, Golden Boy, a narcissistic artist who loves to create and destroy, and Miss Mass, an alluring jazz singer who attracts all who come close. The Big Bang results and history begins!
From the birth of stars to the emergence of life and beyond, you’ll explore the deadly Big Bang. This wide range of settings is presented in black and white, paying homage to the contrast of classic film noir photography. Hand drawn 2D animation and 3D environments are combined to create beautiful transitions between scenes of cosmic scale and the tiniest clues for your investigation.
With a focus on tactile puzzles and exploration, you’ll experiment with objects in small slivers of the universe to discover how they can be manipulated to progress your investigation. Dial a rotary phone; destroy a civilization; plant a garden; improvise with a musician; create life — all in your search for a way to save Miss Mass.
Like any good noir film, Genesis Noir is filled with a bopping jazz soundtrack, sounds of silent streets, and the ambiance of cosmic microwave background. You might even play a tune or two yourself.
