For Honor Season VII: Storm and Fury Brings New Map, Updates, and a New Event

For Honor continues to hone its edge with Season VII: Storm and Fury, arriving on Xbox One as a free update on August 2. Featuring a new map, major reworks of two heroes, and updates to the ranking system, Season VII will also include a special event that will be announced at a later date. And if you haven’t yet started playing, Xbox Live Gold members can get the benefit of these changes for free starting August 16, when For Honor joins the Games with Gold roster.

Warden and Valkyrie mains will want to pay close attention when Storm and Fury launches, as both Heroes will receive reworked move sets, with speed adjustments and new attacks designed to improve their efficiency and versatility, while also helping to balance the roster. Storm and Fury also adds a new map, Secluded Keep, a highly contested outpost surrounded by water and available in Tribute, Skirmish, Elimination, Brawl, and Duel modes. The update also tweaks the progression and ranking systems, adding new legendary gear, raising the Reputation level cap to 60, adding Master and Grand Master divisions to the rankings, and making ranked Duels available outside of tournaments.

Storm and Fury’s additions come on the heels of second-year improvements to For Honor that have so far included dedicated servers, as well as a new, expanded training mode for refining your skills and learning how to overcome particularly troublesome Heroes. And much bigger changes are just over the horizon on October 16, when the Marching Fire update introduces a new faction – the Chinese-influenced Wu Lin – and a new 4v4 mode, Breach, which drops players into a full-on fortress siege. The competition is fierce and For Honor’s battlefields have more to offer than ever, so jump in and start sharpening that steel before the new challengers take the field.
